This for all you mommies out there...
I'm at the 6 month mark in my pregnancy and its time to figure out whether or not Ryan and I should sign up for lamaze classes. I know some people don't think they're beneficial, others do. I don't want to waste my time (and money) if they don't help. But I don't want to have Ryan miss out on anything that would be useful as a first-time dad (who knows nothing about babies). Lindsey has a set of videos that she purchased and liked and said I could borrow those. Also, what is the "Bradley Method" I've heard about? What are your opinions?

i know.....HURRY UP AND GET ME ANOTHER NIECE!!!!
Matt & I didn't go to child birth classes. For us is was a case of "pick your battles". It wasn't that important to me for us to go. I can't say that it would or wouldn't have helped, but I think that we did just fine without it. (Eventhough I ended up having a C-section after pushing for 1 1/2 hours.
It really depends on what kind of childbirth you want to have. If you plan to get an epidural then (according to what I was told) there's really no point. YOu don't have to worry so much about your breathing because you won't be feeling anything. If you plan to go naturally then I would recommend you read the book: "Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way." It will tell you everything you need to know and is more beneficial then the class I took.
It definitely depends on you. If you are stressed and worried and feel like you know nothing... take a class. If you are pretty relaxed about everything, I would watch a video or read a book. I personally thought classes were a complete waste of time, although Ryan should be prepped at least a little. The Bradley method is a good place to start, wether you plan on using drugs or not.
My advice is to get a towel, bite down, and push like a 10 pound bowling ball is about to shoot out of your boday!
