Every Mother's Day weekend there is a Morel Mushroom Festival held in Mesick, MI. Ryan and I have went the past few years, and this year was no exception. We camp on state land (very rustic camping...no water & no bathrooms), hunt through the woods for mushrooms and go to the festival held in town. This year was VERY cold. It got down to 34 degrees at night. Seeing as I'm 7 months pregnant, I figured we'd sleep on a few blankets in the back of my Bravada at night and we'd be fine. Well....that idea wasn't so brilliant. It was terrible! After the first night we went to a store in town and bought an air mattress. It was much better sleeping on that! The woods up there are beautiful. It's so relaxing and peaceful. We didn't find many mushrooms, maybe 15 or so, but we still had a good time. We took our dog, Dante, with us. He's a good camping/travel dog.
Ryan and I were married on October 20,2007. Our daughter Chloe was born on July 8, 2008. I work at Sparrow Hospital in the Information Technology Help Desk and Ryan is a self-employed insurance recruiter. We bought a house in May of 2007 and are currently working on remodeling it (when we have the time).
