Hospital Stay...What do I pack??

I'm officially 34 weeks today....only 6 more weeks to go!! (This pregnancy went SO fast!) I figured I should start packing, but I'm not exactly sure what to bring. I've been looking online and from what I gather this is a basic list.
  • Robe/Nightgown
  • Slippers & Socks
  • Reading material (not sure how much reading I'd be doing?!)
  • Music/MP3 Player
  • Money
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc)
  • Change of clothes
  • Snacks Camera/Video Camera
  • Nursing Bra & Pads
  • Underwear
  • Address book
  • Going-home outfit (for myself and baby)
  • Car seat
  • Receiving blanket
  • Socks/booties

Can you mommies out there let me know what you're glad you brought and what you wish you would've remembered to pack initially (instead of sending your husband to get it :) THANKS!

hair ties...don't forget those. I haven't had a baby myself, as you know, but hair ties are a must. Also, a pillow. One of your own is always more comfortable. As well as a lap blanket. Hospitals are always so cold.

I've had no babies either but bring extra batteries! Camera's always are dying at the most inopportune times!

OMG! Meagan....I didn't even know that was you until I clicked on your profile :) That is such a good idea!!!! I didn't even think of batteries. I added a link to your site on mine.

My personal opinion - you don't really need anything. They have everything you need. The only thing I would be sure to grab are your toiletries (besides the obvious stuff - like a camera).

Take your own pads & undies. The ones they supply are gross and about the size of a small bus. You don't really need to take snacks for yourself. At the hospital I had Hailey at they had a maternity cafeteria. It had crackers, yoguart, ice cream, drinks, etc. in it. I didn't use my address book. My cellphone has everyones numbers in it. Definately bring a pillow for yourself and a change of clothes or two for Ryan. He may think your crazy, but he'll thank you in the long run. (Matt did)

Anything that they give you in the hospital that you open you pay for. Pads, tooth brush, soap, etc. It's not cheep either. Keep track of everything even any tylonel or other meds. I wish I would have.

Take anything that you open with you when you leave. Snot sucker for baby, breast pump supplies (if you use them) you pay for them & possible won't have to buy them later.

Take your own pads for sure! Baby bottles and/or breast pump. If you forget, they always have everything you need. I took a little bit of light makeup with me since tons of people were visiting and tons of pictures were taken. Slippers were nice too but really don't worry too much. You aren't there long and they have everything you need - except good pads!
