1 Month Old

Chloe is one month old today. It doesn't seem like its been that long! She is very healthy. We had a dr appt yesterday and she weighs 8 lbs 2 oz. The unfortunate part...our pediatrician thinks that Chloe has a mild case of colic. She is VERY fussy from like 7-10 PM every night. She doesn't have the non-stop crying like most colicky babies, but she definitely isn't happy during those times and displays some common colic symptoms. It can be very overwhelming, but we're hanging in there and we keep telling ourselves "it could be worse" and "it'll pass". During most of her awake times though she is very alert and fun to be with. We love her very much and we're thankful that she's healthy!!

It goes by soooo fast. Treasure every minute of it. Hopefully we will be able to get the girls together sometime before we are old and gray!

Hey, have you tried gas drops? Owen used to be really fussy in the evenings too and gas drops did the trick!!
She's a doll.
Are you nursing? How's that going?

We've tried using gas drops and they didn't really work. We starting using a gripe water a week ago and that seemed to help...a little. I'm formula feeding. We started her on Enfamil Lipil but switched to Enfamil Gentle (which was supposed to reduce fussiness and gas). It made a difference but she was still fussy. Jason & Wendy had to put their daughter, Emma, on a hypoallergenic formula, Similac Alimentum. We bought a can of that and started her on it on Friday. So, we'll see if that makes a difference. Last night was a pretty rough night. She was VERY fussy off/on from 5-9. Sometimes we have to just let her cry to get it out of her system. Its very energy draining and frustrating having a colicky baby. I think I cry every time she gets into one of her "fits". Our dr recommended a book called "The Happiest Baby on the Block". Its supposed to teach you a technique to get fussy/colicky babies to calm down. I'm in the middle of reading that. Our dr had 2 colicky babies herself.
